Descripción
Contact, winner of the 1986 Locus Award, develops one of the constants in the author's career: the search for extraterrestrial intelligence and communication with it through space probes. In 1997, film director Robert Zemeckis brought this story to the big screen in a film starring Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey. After five years of incessant searching with the most sophisticated devices of the moment, astronomer Eleanor Arroway, along with a team of international scientists, manages to connect with the star Vega and prove that we are not alone in the universe. Thus begins a thrilling journey towards humanity's most anticipated encounter, and with it Sagan masterfully raises how the reception of messages from an extraterrestrial civilization would affect our society.
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION At first it seemed impossible - a radio signal that came not from Earth but from far beyond the nearest stars. But then the signal was translated, and what had been impossible became terrifying. For the signal contains the information to build a Machine that can travel to the stars. A Machine that can take a human to meet those that sent the message. They are eager to meet us: they have been watching and waiting for a long time. And now they will judge.
