Descripción

The Torah, or Law of Moses, contains the heart of the Bible's message, revealing its theological importance in the famous words of the Shema "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one" (Deuteronomy 6:4). This message highlights the primordial doctrine of biblical revelation: God is one! And that great theological and monotheistic affirmation became the main core of the message of the prophets and priests, and also of Jesus of Nazareth and his disciples, becoming the essence of the Christian faith.

From a historical and theological perspective, the Law of Moses is an indispensable and fundamental component in biblical revelation, and its study and understanding is decisive for the adequate understanding and fair appreciation of the message of the prophets, and for properly assessing the transformative ministry of Jesus of Nazareth.

Unfortunately, not all people who read the Bible as God's revelation have the precise knowledge to carry out this assessment adequately: the Pentateuch is a set of narratives extended over time and its correct interpretation is not easy. This results in the loss of many valuable meanings, or what is worse, in inadequate if not erroneous interpretations.

This book offers the Spanish-speaking Christian public a sober, balanced, accessible and understandable presentation of the message of the Pentateuch, which greatly facilitates the process of understanding, assimilation, enjoyment and updating of the message of the Law of Moses.

Its main added value compared to other similar materials for the study of the Pentateuch is the peculiar personality of its author: Hispanic but also a professor of Bible and Hebrew literature at Dar al-Kalima University College in Israel. This qualifies him for a perfect cultural symbiosis in the interpretation and application of the teachings of the Torah to Spanish-speaking faith communities in the face of the challenges that contemporary society presents to churches and believers. Something that other similar works lack.
