Following in Alison McGhee's footsteps in her classic Someday, popular illustrator Amy June Bates makes her authorial debut with her eleven-year-old daughter with this timely and perennial book about acceptance.

Next to the front door is an umbrella. It's big. It's so big that when it starts to rain there's room for everyone under it. It doesn't matter if you're tall. Or if you're wearing plaid clothes. Or if you're furry. It doesn't matter how many legs or paws you have.

Don't worry that there won't be enough room under the umbrella. Because there will always be room.

Exuberant illustrations and simple lyrical text subtly touch on themes of inclusion and tolerance in this charming tale that bestselling illustrator Amy June Bates co-wrote with her daughter, Juniper, as they walked to school together in the rain.
