About the Author
Lisa See (Paris, 1955) grew up in a Chinese family settled in the United States. The great-granddaughter of the patriarch of Los Angeles' Chinatown, she narrated her great-grandfather Fong See's American odyssey in On Gold Mountain. With Snow Flower and the Secret Fan (Salamandra, 2005), which became an international bestseller, she achieved widespread recognition that was confirmed with her subsequent novels: Peony in Love (Salamandra, 2008), Shanghai Girls (Salamandra, 2010), The Island of Sea Women (Salamandra, 2020), and now, The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
