Descripción
This book contains nine true stories in which one or two children, between seven and fifteen years old, commit one or more murders. The acts of the perpetrators are not an accidental result of a different activity, such as playing; none presented symptoms of mental retardation or insanity; they were not pressured by other people to commit the crimes. With nuances, it can be asserted that the young ones knew what they were doing and the results of their conduct.
The introduction discusses the influence of psychological, neurological, genetic, and environmental determinations on the commission of such crimes; the margin of individual freedom of the murderers and the consequent degree of responsibility that can be attributed to them.
The epilogue records, based on the cases reviewed, possible answers to the questions raised in the introduction. While it is not possible to offer conclusive results, the reader is given a fairly approximate idea of the depth, scope, implications, complexity, and interdisciplinarity of the problem.
